The bottom line: match the tool to the risk. If a wrong reading shuts down production or creates a safety issue, buy the premium instrument, calibrate it on schedule, and keep records. If the tool is for routine checks where a second reading can confirm the first, the Extech is a logical choice. And regardless of brand: verify calibration certificates, download the manuals before you need them, and buy from a channel that can produce a proper invoice.
